What’s in your stoma powder? An update from Hollister

Several days after posting my What’s In Your Stoma Powder? article, Hollister emailed me again with some disappointing information: Their Adapt Stoma Powder DOES contain animal products.

I’ve updated my original post to include this information.  Fortunately, I now also have the Coloplast Brava powder, which is free of animal products.

It’s always worth checking and confirming the ingredients in any product you use, since you never know if they contain skin, bones, blood or flesh.

  1. Do you know what the ingredients are in Coloplast Brava Lubricant Deodorant? I can’t find an ingredient list online.

    • Hi Alva,

The best place to get ingredients, when they are not listed publicly, is to request an MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheet) from the manufacturer. This should list the ingredients, and any known dangers.

I tried to look back at my own records to see if I have a copy of the MSDS for that product, but unfortunately, I don’t.

      Good luck!
