I have had an ileostomy since 24 Feb 2016. I am still learning the ups and downs of what it means. Here in Huntsville, On, we have an Ostomy Chapter which I am a member of. I have developed a hernia for some reason. I have had 3 blockages since December and had an Ileostomy 2 weeks ago. They surgeon states that there is also a kink and so wants to operate to repair the hernia and kink. It would be a 2 hr operation. My previous one was 9 hrs. I am still thinking about it. I use a Coloplast one piece sensura Mio and Coloplast bravo ring. I also have a custom made hernia belt which is helpful. It is 3 Jan 2023 now. I just made a new topic - Rectal Stump Treatment. An update: I had 9 blockages and finally a parastomal repair with mesh in 2017. I now use a 2 piece Sensura Mio. I'm 81 and apparently not a candidate for further surgery since I didn't do well with the first two.
