Let me preface this post with the fact that I haven't slept at all the past few nights. My ostomy has been throwing a temper tantrum and I really cant figure out why... Anyhoo I was trying to make some bacon in the microwave this morning and the microwave burst into flames...huh...that ain't good...I got the fire out, opened the window, start to try and see what was up with that and the dog decides he needs to go out. I hook him out go back in and the UPS truck pulls in the driveway...our dog isn't friendly AT ALL with strangers do I go out to get him in the house. He slips his collar and is GONE LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN...I am still in my pjs and no shoes but I am running(well...walking briskly)down the drive way trying to no avail to get the stupid d dog to come back to me while yelling at the UPS guy to just chuck the package out the window so the dog doesn't get him(it was just a new phone case) During all this smoke is ROLLING out of the kitchen window/ the ups guy is looking at this crazy pj wearing uncombed hair looking me and my cell phone is ringing in my pocket...its my hubby with his daily call to check to see if I am doing ok...sure I am honey...no problem here. The dog is running across the field and I just cant chase his sorry butt. He did stop when he found a dead woodchuck...yummy...but did not come to me as I am screaming his name... Long story short hubby left work to come help me(he wad about 10 min away) He got he dog in/hauled out the blackened microwave/made me lay down/and went back to work. And the...THEN the dog barfs all over the kitchen...GROSS...it was the bologna hubby used to lure him away from the dead woodchuck...mmmmmm I am DONE and I have a meeting that I MUST attend this afternoon. I hope you all have a better day today that I have had...and this  all happened before noon...I need a nap God when you choose to leave mountains unmovable oh give me the strength to sing it is well with my soul Did I mention that said dog in above post belongs to our son...not even my dog...sheesh...he may or may not still be here when son gets home from work...Lol just kidding he LOVES that stupid mutt God when you choose to leave mountains unmovable oh give me the strength to sing it is well with my soul Woah. What a way to start the week! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Oh yeah, I forgot it was Monday...hope it is not an omen on how the rest of my week will go...I need a vacation But I really feel sorry for the poor UPS GUY...he had to witness me in all my glory...he just might go blind...Lol God when you choose to leave mountains unmovable oh give me the strength to sing it is well with my soul WOW! That is quite a day . Its a good thing these things get funnier with the passage of time! Thanks for sharing. Onset of severe Ulcerative Colitus Oct.2012. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Second opinion information Today I went to the information desk of Johns Hopkins Hospital. I asked " if a friend of mine wanted to get a second opinion from the doctors at JHH, where do they start?" "Call 410.955.5000 if an American. Call +1-443-287-6080 if calling for international services. " Thought it might help those of you who are not getting satisfaction from their own hospital.  Thanks Zvitusk, good info which I may need. Will see what GI says next Thursday. Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! :-) My GI doc has done the procedure on me twice since surgery 14 months ago. I have a colonostomy and the procedure was done under anesthetic and through my stoma. The worst part of the whole thing was that I still had to drink a gallon of "Go-lytely" (what a misnomer) and do the cleanout. Dont sweat it, you'll be ok. Ask your doctor. Once, I had prepped for colonoscopy while I was a patient in hospital. Nurse wanted to see color of toilet water before she would take me. It was tinged brown. She wanted me to do it again, saying it must be absolutely clear or no go. I won. She lost. Details were ugly Colonoscopy was clear. NED. Â
