Trying to start planning the holiday season for work and myself and unfortunately won't know when surgery will be. I meet my surgeon the 2nd week of November to discuss surgery plans. My boss does not seem to grasp that I do not know when surgery will be yet. I can guess November since he wants the stent in and that is the third month of it being in place... I can even hazard a guess as mid November from the stent placement date. Ready to get it done. My better half had surgery at the start of the year, we planned as much as we could but some times you have to let things run their course, and you know what it seems to work out. their is never a right time to be in hospital but sometimes it the right place to be. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns GM All I agree I hate waiting and not knowing . Especially this busy time of year . Felicity I agree with John . Hospitals can be a pain but hang in there it will all work out in the end ! Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis Yes, waiting to get a surgery date is worse than counting down the days until its done! Its the uncertainty. It is hard to be patient. I think once you know when, it will be easier because you can make actual plans. Brings back 'feelings' thats for sure! Anyway, be as well and as calm as you can. Also what idiot thought of calling people in hospital PATIENTS would IMPATIENTS not be more fitting ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Sadly I'm an Activity Girl by profession and a lot of that is planned ahead. I've reiterated to my boss I don't have a clear picture of what will happen in November or December. She's just not grasping it. Get the feeling she's not had to deal with a lot of holding pattern healthcare. Family thankfully is easier to deal with. Eldest daughter but I've not got any real holiday responsibilities, not for lack ovary trying in the past, I typically just show up with a monster cheese tray. Told my parents they could do Christmas at my house since they moved into an apartment. Mom plans to come over and clean if they decide on that offer.
