Hi All, a very simple topic one which may not seem that important but my ostomy draw had become a bit of a mess this past while. Normally I am a tidy organised person ye know the type all the tins and bottles in the kitchen cupboard facing with the label out in neat rows!!!! scary!!! lol. So I took into the supply draw and did a sort. the samples I was sent that I will never use checked dates etc. it was such a pleasure this evening doing my change. plus it gives a clear idea of what I now need to order and stock up on.

We should all be doing some "spring cleaning" when it comes to our ostomy supplies! Probably even more than just during the spring!

I've amassed a considerable amount of samples - many that I will still use for experiments or to have on hand for reference.

Checking the dates is a great way to purge out supplies that otherwise can't be used or donated! Good job for getting to that, John!

Oh my Goodness!!  Alfie is checking out the girls already huh?  What  beautiful coloring he  has.. Beautiful animal indeed!!  Well kept.   Keeping u on your toes I am sure..  Mr. Poo or cat is going for a ride in the family car next week to the bets.. He is sooooo excited.. :-(  He also is enjoying the nicer weather today-- low 6o's..  I opened the windows and the farmer down the street out manure on his land..  Although it is rather far, 5 miles, the wind is just right :-(   :-) .  But like Z says shit happens..

Good luck on your visit to the Dr.  hope all goes well for u.  Spring check up??

I just re-did my supply drawers about the same time John did his.  On the same wave line??  IT is important to know you have everything u need not just the bathroom but the travels we go on to. Miss one subject, and nothing connects does it????? Best. M.

Hi Tony that's a neat job, it makes me feel really ashamed of my ostomy travel kit, now that I have tidied my drawer I need to do some thing with the kit, Yep Marcie its a lot easier to have all that's needed with you not half way through to find a piece of kit missing still in a messy drawer. not the first time me and Sammy have done a streak across the hallway lol.

Ya, John, I know the streak............ The early days of learning of what you really need and forget to update.. I check my drawer of supplies every 2 weeks.  But the cleaning out is a different story..  I just did it a few days ago.. Thank God..

We have to take care of ourselves as no one will.. And if someone else has to get in there for us, we have the whole drawer ready--but really?  what do they know?  We do.. I also have a hospital bag full of things I need and want-just grab that bag and go..  That was the first thing I provided myself and other family members to 4 years ago.. .  Big help !! I just cleaned that out also.. :-) A new prince your way huh?

Wow, Tony! That Eakin bag looks amazing! I have a few from Coloplast that are similar, but that one looks really great.

When i receive supplies I write the month I received it on the box . I keep everything organized in a bedroom drawer and use older ones first . I reorder  enough every month making sure I keep a 6 month supply in stock. I have nightmares about not getting supplies and what would i do ? So I like keeping a stash for piece of mind.

Be well , Bubbles

At the start I had a problem getting my order sorted, At that time here in the UK most folk would get supplies at the Chemist/pharmacy. I had decided on the system I was going to use and every time I put in an order and went to collect it was a different brand. It seemed they thought a ostomy bag was the same no matter what. That took a while to sort out but when I got them to understand what I needed it has run like clock work.

John, that must have been a nightmare - them thinking ostomy is a reg. thing.. What we all go through to get to what we want..  I guess your system tis totally major different than ours here in the USA. -- from what I have read for you all in that system.. Seems to be a long waiting time for Dr. and just about everything.. My heart goes out to you all.  M.

Yes, a very important thing to do, know where each item is, so you know where to go to when you need it in a hurry. I got myself a set of drawers to put all my Ostomy supplies in, and also my diabetic supplies.

Have pictures of the drawer set, but have no idea how to put it here.... ???
