Hi Folks, when I opened my phone this morning I seen the google logo was highlighting an event. So I tapped and it international woman’s day. Ok some may say what’s this got to do with ostomy issues. Ok look at it this way! The majority of members here I would say are women, the majority of advocates are woman. Most of the strongest most resilient folks I know are women. Ie my wife has been through a huge number of issues including transplant surgery and major sight lose. And the way she handles it puts any problems I have to shame. A close female friend of mine has coped with surgery followed by problems from that and other family issues and again the way she has dealt with it amazing. I could list and list examples but ladies you already know and if you don’t you should. So here’s to the fairer sex and all you are👍

John,

What a nice thing for you to post. I think women don’t always know their own worth or their strength. I know I struggle with that. It is nice to have a man recognize what we women are capable of.

Happy International Women’s Day to all my ostosisters here!

I just saw this on Facebook:

”Of course International Women’s Day falls on a day with only 23 hours”. 😂😂

Dont forget to spring forward, everyone.

Well, if we want to talk ostomy appliances then we do have a wonderful woman to thank: Elise Sørensen, who first came up with the idea of an adhesive ostomy bag - that idea is what sparked the Coloplast!  https://www.coloplast.com/about-coloplast/history/

Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.
