Did you make your pants also?  I have been searching on eBay for clothing but don't know what that waist is called.  Not able to go shopping at this time.  Cant stand high waist or anything over my stoma now.

Mary

Mary when searching for pants type in DRAW STRING  pants . They are usually not high waist and you can adjust string to you liking . Very comfy .

Hi Maryep! I got those in the Young Ladies/ Young Miss section, typical style for athletic/ yoga pants. Found some on amazon, apparently keyword is "foldover."

I also have these wonderful Salwar/ Harem pants that have a wide smocked waistband that I wear over or under my ostomy, at my hip bones. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0728KTVH8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm a little bit of a funky eclectic dresser, they also have them in plain designs too. They are one size, lightweight non-stretch cotton.

If you have a fluctuating waist (like I do) these skirts are fantastic: https://www.amazon.com/Wevez-Original-Printed-Around-Skirts/dp/B01L8UPFC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509893604&sr=8-1&keywords=wevez I wear them above or below my stoma. I prefer things below rather than above and let Oscar the Pouch hang out. That's why I started making my pouched as I did not want to flash folks with a bag o poo.

If you look at the bottom of where you write your post there is a place where it says "Attach File" and a button that says "Browse", click that button and select the picture you want, select open and there you go.

Click browse and look for image files. Select the one you want, select open and that should be it. The writing to the right of the button should change to the file name.

Also started a thread for clothing that we've found good for our bodies/ Ostomies called Clothing, it's located in the Lounge area.

Sorta a slap in my face, got to old at once, and lost to much weight at once. I will be checking this out!! Thanks..

none of us are getting any younger, as the years go by we start looking at a lot of things differently. I walked past a clothes store I used to buy from in my 20s, to start with ripped skinny jeans would just look silly on me and if I did go in the staff would think I was some ones dad or granddad.

But I have to say I am comfortable being my age, I still like to dress well but comfort is more important

YEs, I am too- The age of knowledge is what keeps us young- I just saw my hands, I think that I have Goldie Hawns hands-now that is depressing! BUt house work tells all and having fun outside, it is just another wrinkle within lost times- I am not a glove person-- for such tings.. I just go at it..

I am the same I'm proud of the fact that I'm 68 years old and still on the proper side of the grass. And my style hasn't changed a whole lot I still wear the same kinds of clothes that I've worn for years and years I do have to be careful about things covering my stoma though but I've got a guard on the way to me I should have been there before I came in the hospital but it was delayed a bit I'll let you know how that works out

Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!!

Yes, I am proud that I made to age 68 also-- people say I don't look my age, but when u see yourself get so old so fast like within weeks after my illness it was a shock.. But I am comfortable with myself and so happy that when I took a dry run to heaven, I came back normal-they didn't think that I would be the same or even within mind wise.. but I am back and soooo Thankful!! Now to enjoy life with "Nellie"

I was rather depressed for some time getting well again-but I made it.. Took a few years..

But?????  This blog has helped me with getting my humor back and that I am not alone.. of the past many struggles of adjustments.. Thank you all !!!!!! I am blessed.   I hope others that are new to this ostomcy business, can be as well as I in their future.. It will happen!! trust me..
