Hi Friends. I am having a pretty lousy day and am trying to laugh to keep from crying. So if anyone has any funny anecdotes, let me have them. 😀 On a completely unrelated note, does anyone have a good tip for getting poo off your carpet? Oh, and on another unrelated note, Glenn, if I laughed when you told us about your bag going “pop” and flying off that one time, I am so sorry. -Liza does anyone have a good tip for getting poo off your carpet? If you don't have a wet carpet vacuum, I tend to have luck spraying hydrogen peroxide on clothing, bedding, or carpet that poo gets on (both human and cat/dog poo). I hope you have a better day 😉 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. I'm sure this will not fail to make you laugh - at us English :-D Colostomy Jan 2020 Thanks for the laugh, Chris!! That made me laugh out loud, and there were a couple things I didn’t even understand. 😂 Normally a blowout wouldn’t affect me like that, but I’ve been having a bit of a rough time lately. Thanks for taking the time to cheer me up. -Liza Thanks Eric. I haven’t tried hydrogen peroxide, but will go buy some, for sure. How is your arm doing? -Liza How is your arm doing? 😣 I'm at six weeks today and have my next x-ray next week. I expect the bone to be "fine" but I might have soft tissue damage according to my physiotherapist, which means my arm is still garbage and painful pretty much all day. Had this been any other part of my arm that was fractured, I'd probably be back to normal activity by now. But unfortunately, shoulder injuries are not that some and the bone fracture itself is rarely the cause of your problems, it's all the stiffness and damage that occurs around the shoulder that's the real devil in the details. I'll be honest, this is harder to get through than my ostomy surgery. With my ostomy surgery, I started at a very poor state of health and was really unable to do anything by the time I had surgery, so everything was looking up from then on. But this essentially put an entire hold on my life, at a time when I was really looking forward to enjoying this summer. At least with my ostomy I was back to long range hikes within a month, but with this, I can't even lift up a mug without being in tremendous pain - 7 weeks on 😵😵😵 I have developed some serious empathy for someone who gets into a severe accident and breaks more than just a shoulder. I definitely don't want to make this sound like it's the worst thing that could have happenha. I really did get off lucky. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Liza, sorry you’re having a rough day. I found a product called Spot Shot that works great on getting just about anything out of carpet. I’ve used it on pet accidents over the years, coffee stains, and it has never failed me. Good luck! Laurie Just a semicolon I’m sorry, Eric. I broke my shoulder in a car accident in college and I think I was in the sling thing for 2 months. My right shoulder still doesn’t have the range of mobility as my left shoulder. It is totally functional though. I remember how miserable it was, so I know what you are going through. I hope you get good news next week at the doctor. -Liza -Liza Hi Lisa, Hope things are going better today. The best stain remover I have ever found is called Folex, comes in a spray bottle. It takes out anything. Good luck. Terry Hi Liza Hope your doing better So squeaky had decided to play astronaut's the other day but "Huston we have have a problem" she pressed the ICBM (BIG RED button) instead launching a inter bag carpet mess and nuked the carpet by mistake LOL. Bagpus likes to play this game from time to time so far we've been lucky and no marital incidents have occurred. Just think we have extraordinary people we have "Interesting lives" instead of the big decision which take-away to buy today etc, we have to consider that the next choice of meal could result in a major international incident if we were intent on fly that time  You see you have the superhuman power to shut down an airport, ah! well squeaky has at least! You are doing great and your help other folks alot here, we are all entitled to a S**T day I sent this msg the other day but it never went?? Colostomy Jan 2020 Hi Liza, Sorry that I didn't see this till now, but I have been trying to stay away from extensive computer use as it has affected my eyes. Sounds like Squeaky has been misbehaving. I have never had a blowout (so far!) but my bag has blown up to the point where I thought I'd float away! This usually happens at night while I'm sleeping. I hope you have been doing better and that Squeaky will be more cooperative for you. God bless, Stella Sorry to hear that you are in such pain. Shoulder injuries tend to take a great deal of time to heal. I had injured my shoulder in a fall and could not raise it above my head for quite a while. It took me two years of PT before I no longer had pain and could fully lift my arm above my head. Hang in there, this will pass! Stella That is what happened to me. Usually I sleep so horribly that I am awake several times a night and empty the bag when it starts to fill. That night I actually slept pretty well. When I woke up at 7, my bag was as hard as a rock, so I got out of bed to go deal with it, got one step toward the bathroom and “pop”. -Liza Those are what I call Orchestral manoeuvres in the dark! Named after the UK band from the late 70's Enola gay is a great dance track https://www.insoundtrack.com/musician/orchestral-manoeuvres-in-the-dark Colostomy Jan 2020 Haha. I know OMD. Here is the US, I think they are considered a one-hit wonder. Their song “If You Leave” was in the movie “Pretty in Pink” in the 80’s. 😎 -Liza
