I have read about this before on a forum, and recently started using one of those little clamps - the size of a paper clip, and meant for papers - at the bottom of my pouch. I have a lot of these around in a desk drawer, anyway, and thought I’d give it a go. After pressing the velcro together I give it one more fold-up, and then clip.

Now, the velcro on my pouch has never failed, and the little clamp sometimes pokes, but for some reason I feel a bit more confident, and don’t empty as often (was I a little compulsive about that?). Another thing is, I don’t have to tuck things up into the pouch cover (I use Hollister with the “fabric” covering) which keeps the cover from wearing out/tearing, so it stays nice longer.

Thanks for sharing that!

I've used those paper clip clamps to secure the TOP of my bag when I'm wearing a pouch cover. Not often, but sometimes it seems like my pouch cover never wants to stay on, so this helps. LOL

The velcro should be pretty reliable, but I've had one velcro strip come off my bag when I was at a lunch event for Crohn's and Colitis, and the only thing that kept it closed was the fact that Hollister outlets are hard to open! 😬😂

Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.
