So, I have been using the Sensura Mio light convex with NO filter. The adhesive residue problems are less. It has elastic adhesive and it stays on me which is rare because I usually get leakage around my stoma and edges usually peel on me. I notice that as I wear it it forms around my stoma like a barrier ring would and so no need for a barrier ring. No barrier wipe needed either.  I can go 2 days and maybe longer if I tried compared to 1 day with the old appliance. This Mio has no filter and I ordered transparent. I’m one of those people that I have to see what’s going on in there . The output seems to slide to the bottom which is great for me because I was always a huge pancaker. Way better than the mio that has that enormous ring filter. Because there is no filter I am getting some gas but not as much as with my old appliance.
the bad is that the roll up Velcro bottom does not seem all that secure. A few times I notice output  right there as soon as I unroll it but it does have the option to stick it up in the pouch area on the Velcro sticker. I’ve thought about using my old convatec clip but I’m not sure if it would rip the end of the bag or something and I’d really be in trouble. But so far so good. I was always hesitant to go away from Convatec but I think this bag is a winner for me. Still in the testing out phase.

Hi @Chelly. My name is Jr. I have been reading about your issues and really do feel for you as I had similar issues when I first stated with Hollister Wafers. But ever since switching to Sensura Mio all gone. Anyways I worked at Halifax Stanfield Airport and last year bumped into one of the Coloplast directors who I had a very pleasant converation with. I sent him your link (Wouldn't it be nice) which he read  and this was his response. Might help you out/Might not but it  is a step in the direction to rectify your problem(Excuse the pun).

I agree. No one knows better than our valued end users.

@jrachr awe that’s great. I’m glad he read. I’m still having a bit of those adhesive issues but hoping it’s going to go away. I’m happy to hear that your switch from Hollister totally solved your problem. When I tested out Hollister yes the adhesive was crazy. Don’t why why they think hydrocollid was a good idea for ileostomy. The wetter hydrocollid gets, the gooier it becomes. Goo everywhere when you empty. At least in my experience.

@Chelly .While adhesive is important there has to be a better way than this hydrocollid stuff.Anyways contact Greg directly if you wish.He is very nice.Just tell him you were chatting with jr in Halifax and that will give him a heads up about who you are. But he will probably suggest the samples he recomended and also call the development team and see if they have any ideas. Very good company to deal with so far. Be sure to have a very Merry Xmas and A Happy New Year

@jrachr I have been working with a rep here in the United States but I may call Greg as you suggest. The samples that he suggested I try, my rep did already send to me. I have tried them. The lubricatung odor drops do not seem to work as well for me as the Hollister M9. However they are great for the lubrication.
may I ask? Are you having the same type of adhesive issue as me? As it getting all over everything? Sticky and waxy stuff?

talking to the development team would be awesome!! That is really who needs to hear this. I can say one thing about Coloplast is they are not stingy with sending samples.

yes hydrocolloid…. I was reading that the person who came up with this got some hydrocolliod dental junk on their hand and noticed how it stuck to their skin so well when it got wet. So that is how they came about this . But HELLO, the Ostomy bag is a humid wet environment so do we really need sticky stuff splashing on our bathroom floor when we empty or on our hands so that we can transfer it everywhere else because the stuff won’t wash off that easily. The shower is the worst. The only thing I find that gets this thick waxy gook off my hands is suave clarifying shampoo. But then again im Not sure if it really is the bag or something that got transferred to my skin at the bag site from my hands. Whatever it is, it has me in much distress.

One thing I can say is that convatec stomahesive barriers. Not the modified one but just the regular stomahesive is the most Ostomy friendly adhesive but they refuse to make an activelife convex with it.

sometimes half temped to go to my surgeon to have my stoma redone so that it sticks outward again just because of these bags. If these bags are what’s causing the sticky.

@Chelly. I never had that kind of issue with it running everywhere. My issue was was I could never get them off(the Hollister I was using). And they caused a reaction with my skin.Coloplast I have no issues at all. Here is a question.Could it possibly be the wash and shampoo you are using and not the Products at all? Maybe time for some troubleshooting  to see?

@Chelly. There has to be a reason. Maybe a chat with this company. They have a lot of FAQ's. Maybe they can help.

@jrachr oh, I’ve been trying to figure that out for at least 3 months now. Something that really scared the crap out of me today is I thought maybe if I used a Cavilon skin barrier wipe it might help to keep the sticky off my skin. Well, when I went to use the wipe I actually watched it disintegrate into  small fine peices right before my eyes. At first I thought the wipe was removing something from my skin like maybe peices of adhesive, but no it was the wipe breaking up. Now that is pretty darn scarey. Like what could be on my skin to cause a barrier wipe to break apart?
This situation gets stranger and stranger.
