Hey guys, If you're a frequent visitor to the VeganOstomy site, you may have noticed it looking slightly different. Theme I've replaced the theme I was using and changed some things around on the back end. Things should still work pretty much like before, but page speed should be much better (and will get better as I continue to tweak things). The change has more to do with how the site operates on the back end and how "clean" the code is - this new theme is far more optimized, even though it may not look as pretty all around. As an example, the size of the homepage is less than half of what it was before, so it will load faster (especially on older or slower devices). Comment section If you post comments under articles, you'll notice that I no longer use the Disqus platform. They've changed things and have been injecting ads into the comment section, and they changed their privacy terms in a way I don't like. The current comment system relies on the native Wordpress backend and should be easily accessible to anyone. Site Search I've enhanced the site search feature, so it should be easier to find content and it gets better with time. Social Share, Social Follow, and Newsletter Signup forms These have been replaced with hand-made versions that run a lot smoother and integrate better with the site. Dozens of article updates I've gone through most of the articles and pages on this site and corrected spelling, grammar, formatting, added updated videos and images throughout. More to come I'll be making more adjustments to make things even better, but if you find any problems, please let me know in the BUGS forum. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Nice work on the website Eric. I'm sure all the talk of back-end operations was entirely coincidental ;-) I feel your pain with article updates though, as it can often be a true labour of love. Anyway, once again "well done" on a truly awesome, entertaining and informative website. haha. Thanks, Stephen! It's hard to stay away from the puns sometimes! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. I like it. You are doing a tremendous kindness to us ostomates. I am weary of being involved in poop for the last few years. It is refreshing to become normalized. Thank you.
