Id like to add that I’ve been binging on fruit smoothies no milk just blend

If you're a fan of ice cream or sorbet, you may want to invest in a juicer that can run frozen fruit through it ;) It's a wonderful treat!

@yvan-charbonneau thanks for that. On the kiwi’s and other fruits like strawberries with seeds, do you blitz them out completely?

I just use a stand up hand mixer.  I will admit with raspberries and blackberries the seeds are a pain.

I don't worry about small seeds like that - unless I've got a scope coming up =)

@cardc ... I don't worry about small seeds either but I mix them with another fruit such as applesauce. If a person has diverticulitis there is cause for concern of seeds or nuts as they can get trapped in an area of bowel. If you wish try having a piece if toast with it to trap seeds & mix them up in the bread or with applesauce.   I often drink 3 glasses of fluids with a meal.  I learned from Eric to put my fork down between bites, it really does make a  difference in how well you chew your foods.

You will loose your enjoyment of food if your too careful. Try eating everything in moderation , like 12 strawberries or one kiwi to start , and chew your foods until theres not much left in your mouth & have flattened those tiny seeds between your teeth.  I eat nuts but I can pulverize them down to a fine powder with my teeth & have never had an issue with them but I also limit them to about 1/4 tob1/3 cup & enjoy a bit of applesauce after to mix them together, start with less if your testing out foods.

I used to get a lot of bowel blockages until I learned 2 things, I have a wierd gut,  1... the majority were suedo blockages,  then 2 ...to cut my foods differently for eating them. I always ate slow & chewed well but I soon discovered  it was the "bigger, longer fibres* in foods I ate causing issues for me. I eat a big salad with a variety of veggies on it almost every day for 2 years & no blockages but its due to the way I prep my foods and cut them to eat them.  I only use iceberg lettuce rarely the romaine, its just too hard on my gut & teeth, lol, to break down.  I missed raw carrots something fierce but I eat them now only I fine grate them on a salad. I still chew that salad down to nothing!

I missed RAW veggies something fierce so I cut Asparagus in 1/4 inch rounds onto a salad.  I steamed all my veggies for a dip with Hummus, I do cucumbers, green beans, asparagus, carrot sticks, whatever you choose & steam them until fork tender at the thickest parts but not knife tender. The difference between fork & knife tender is that a fork means it needs to be cooked just a little longer giving you a slightly softer veg to eat & digest but at the same time skipping the mushy  gross stage,  an ice bath stops that cooking process.   Our bodies actually absorb cooked food vitamins better then raw so steaming them 1st just made more sense to me plus it tenderizes the fibre better too.  A cold/ice bath &  you still have a relatively nice crunch like from raw veg only your body won't work as hard to digest it & its still satisfying.

The length of say 1 inch asparagus pieces of the fibre from it clumps up in the gut causing issues verses the 1/4 " slices mixed with a variety of other bites & Hummus or....?.  So, if you want a large serving of  vegetables eat mashed spuds or coucous or....?  with it & also your protiens.  A little bit of everything & in moderation working around your dinner plate.  If you find yourself hungry a lot as I did,  eat smaller meals more frequently untill you adjust to the changes.

I love rice But wow! Issues there too. So now I rinse the starches off before cooking until the water runs clear moving it around with your fingers makes this step quicker.   Cook it with extra water or broths whatever your choice.  So something like couscous I add another 1/4c. to 1/2c. the amount of fluid needed, let it sit a little longer. Rice 1 cup of rice gets the usual 2 cups of fluids but I'll add another 1/2 cup flyid & test it possibly adding more fluids. Brown rice gets an extra 1 cup or more of fluid until I see the grain actual splitting but because the starch was rinsed off it won't be gummy or clumpy.  It all takes a bit of patience  & testing to what you like.

For meats I eat a lot of fish but when I  have a red meat I'll cut thru the long fibres into 1/8th inch strips and enjoy a thinner slice verses a 1/2 " chunck. knowing I've cut those long fibres way down in size then really mix up my intake with veggies & potatoes, rice or....?

I hope this is helpful  & saves you the stress of wanting to eat but being over cautious. Enjoy!
