Just got to thinking, Mary.  When my surgeon took out my cancerous parts, I also had a complete hysterectomy done.  I am mostly incontinent, but most always, I feel like I'm not emptying my bladder fully either.  Perhaps it's a side effect of our surgeries.  I don't know, but just thought I'd maybe tell you of my experience.  (My husband (bless his cotton-pickin' heart) -- he says I can pee on command.  I can pee almost any time!  So I use incontinence pads so I don't get embarrassed.)

Thanks Ann...  I had bladder repair surgery a year ago last April...  I kept telling my surgeon not to cut thru my "strings" and let it fall again <grin>...   so I have been wearing diapers or pads on occasion for a while.

Thanks Barbara...  We do that tracing just using the ring plastic cover... its just seems like every time something will touch and it will bleed a little.

Busy Me!  Woke up with a leak 3:00 a.m. (mio did hold this time) wasen't to bad on the sheets, so just cleaned me, myself and I, up and got on the other side of the bed, got up an hour ago, did laundry, had breakfast, dressed, and now off to infusion for 3  hours. And I made up the bed so nicely for Barb. to take a picture of my master bedroom.. Just goes to show you........ Soooo When I get home I got to it all over again..

Mio, anyone finding that it can leak easily? Other than other brands?

Hi, Marcie!  Do you use a separate ring (like Eakins) along with your Mio?  Perhaps you need a little "boost" to help the Mio seal better?  (I don't know because I don't use Mio, but with me and my Hollister, I use their Slim Rings to give me that extra bit of protection with my convex skin barriers - and it works really, really well.  Haven't had a leak in a good long while, so I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing because it's working.)

Just thought I'd offer my 2 cents' worth.

2 cents is better than 1 cent.......... Sometimes I think that my/our systems just have to have a burst of engery.. And I was very dehydrated when I went into infusion today-lost 6 pounds over the weekend. So that is a problem.. I use most seals, but I like the ekin ones best.. Just the mio soft convex I have-may need a deeper.harder one. Off to the races again with those..

I use Hollister convex skin barriers and together with the slim rings, I get a great seal.  Have you tried other manufacturer's.  Everybody will send you samples to try.  (Right now, I have a sample from Hollister of their new Cera Plus Slim Ring.)

Perhaps a deeper firmer convex would work better for you.  Ask for a sample and give it a try.  It may very well be the solution you've been looking for!

Best wishes.

Try taking liquid Imodium 30-45 before you eat . It really has helped me .

I Bubbles, Imodium of any kind does not work for me-Any liquids go right through me..  But I now take a prescription of:  Loperamide 2 mg. caps---I take 3 during breakfast, then 2 at lunch then 1 or 2 with snack then 2 during dinner.. This helps me to keep food and liquids in longer so I can get the/a  healthy foods into me.. And some liquids.  Must go to Dr.-- and dont let anyone tell you that-this is just Imodium-u can buy it over the counter.. WRONG!! This is a form of it, but with the capsules they stay in longer with foods. with out insurance it cost $500.00 per/month..  For me this does not hold any liquids.. I have to get my liquids at the infusion center 3x/week..... With I.V.  So, gaining any weight that I  lost 3 years ago with this illness, has not arrived..  But boy can I eat and eat and enjoy all kinds of foods!!!!!!!!! But there is always a pay back time--"Nellie" can give me an all nighter!!!!!! So, I have an eating fun day every other day..  Or a cup of coffee and that pushes thing through fast.. But I do drink much juices, water, jello water, plain flavored jello,  fresh fruits to get my fluids in..

There are shots I can give myself 3 times a day- one type (hurt like hell) didn't work. now there is another one--get this, 3-5 hundred thousands dollars per year. Asked the Dr. why he was not on the floor laughing with this news.. Could he afford this? NO- like HELLOO ?????  Forget that!! Something will trun around of this body-- ? what ever........ I have tried everything...

Call all the manufacturers - or go to their websites.  Get them all to send you samples.  What the heck - samples are free and they'll gladly send them to you because they're always looking for new business.

If you don't like any of them, you're not out anything other than the time and effort it took to try their product.  There will no doubt be some that you just don't like at all, and there may be one that you really like, that seems to work very well for you.

Sure hope you can get the leaking solved.  It would drive me to distraction!!!!

I am already on heir lists.. I tried to get some more samples, and they took me on a long road of why? we already sent u what we have- We have here on our computer bla bla bla.. So if something new comes along, I can get a sample, but not any that they already sent me and I have exhausted them.. Doing them in for 3 years now.. :-)

But may try for those caps.... :+)

Give Hollister a try . I love the New Image line . I use taped boarder ones  but you can get without taped boarder if you think tape glue bothers your skin .

Hi, Bubbles!!!  I love the New Image line, too!  Am using the Cera Plus-infused skin barriers, and just the other day I got a sample of the Cera Plus slim ring to try out.  Have been using Hollister exclusively now for almost 3-1/2 years that I've had Rosebud (colostomy).  I haven't had a leak in quite a while and you can well imagine how happy that makes me.  Do you use the Cera Plus-infused wafers, too?  If not, ya gotta try them!  They're terrific!!!

Bubbles, I don't like the tape borders.. To much on my tummy-- I have a flat tummy and they just make me feel rather confined.. I do have some tho- give them a try-- I have been changing every day for the last 3 days, but better now-- Sometimes I/we go through this. But, now after 3 years-I have found what I eat and keep track of what is what mentaly, I don't overload the harder foods every day-- I find that acid foods like pasta tomato sauce is a repeat no-no..

Hugs, Marcie.

This is always something I encourage!
