Hi All, I would just like to share a news story about a crohns patient over here which is getting a lot of attention, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-43567078 This Entertainer may not be familiar to most of our members across the Pond, but he has been sharing his battle with Crohns to raise awareness and its really got a lot of media coverage! It great to see the topic being covered and it has brought the topic of being an ostomate into the news and a push for more help for patients. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Thanks for sharing that John. I hadn't seen it before. I couldn't get the video to play ( said not available in my area, so ???), but the rest of the story was encouraging for greater awareness. We could use that for sure! It is really a disease that no one wants ( or knows how ) to talk about. Onset of severe Ulcerative Colitus Oct.2012. Subtotal colectomy with illiostomy July 2015; Peristomal hernia repair ( Sugarbaker, mesh, laparoscopic) May 2017. Hi Dona, It has been discussed on a number of TV shows over here and one I didn,t see had a phone in with a Doctor answering questions, one of the callers was from a Dad whose 11 year old son was facing surgery!! ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns
