So some of you might remember how hard this whole ileostomy thing was for me at the beginning with leaks, lack of sleep, everything.  I've adjusted quite well since.  Any leaks that occur are due to my own fault. I know I need to change the set every 3 days or I get itchy and Pippa the ileo has become pretty predictable.  I am sleeping usually 2-3 hours at a time before emptying.

I just miss traveling so much.

My family took a cruise to Nassau 2 weeks ago (I don't usually consider cruising to be traveling- I usually need a vacation from my vacations, I'm very active).  It was the perfect vacation for me because I was able to go to my room when I got tired. Bathrooms were everywhere. I did not go swimming, but I went into the water up to my thighs.  My only issue was the heat.  It was so incredibly hot on one of our stops that I went back onto the ship by myself an drank a ton of water.  I felt like I might faint but I didn't.

My ileo reversal surgery should be in January.  The minute its done I'm booking a flight to Glasgow. I'll go (solo) to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Yorkshire and end up in my beloved London.  Now THAT is traveling (to me).

Some of you type with accents so I am wondering if any of your are from Scotland?  If so, can I ask you (a zillion) questions?

John, I did detect a slight accent in your typing!  I have not yet been to Norther Ireland though I spent a glorious new years eve 2015 in Dublin, however I do prefer UK countries to Euro countries :-).

The type of info I'm interested in mostly deals with food.  I usually eat in pubs and Nandos (please don't judge me) when I visit the UK and am looking for casual places. I'd also like to try haggis just once.  I got my hotels and all picked out because I was to take this trip last May then I got diagnosed with cancer.

Its hard te beat a bit of pub grub, Any of the usual takeaway BIG names you will find. Cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh have a big Italian population and some pretty darn good resturants on the back of it. Local chippys are a must, now not the Big high st names the local family run ones. You may have seen me here before saying about deep fryed mars bars, well you think of any type of chocolate bar and it will be battered and fryed. Most B AND Bs will serve Haggies along with the breakfast fry. Sure a wee lassie like ye is gonna have a pure, dead brilliant time.

Pub grub is my everything!  Also, I've been to the UK about 12 times and I always miss a proper Sunday roast.  This time I will book my flight home on a Monday or Tuesday.  This will give me 3 possible Sunday roast options.  Would Scotland be a good place for a Sunday Roast? For sure I'm going to get some Yorskshire puddings when I visit York.

Hi Marcie, Nothing worst than those theme bars where every thing is fake! we have a local bar which has been family run for years and years. In the winter the fire is burning and best of all the owner has a Collie dog. It stays by the fire until a new customer comes in, the dog see it as his job to meet and greet,

Sounds JUST like I remembered.. A few times, we were into the deep country- I mean really out there.. And the locals heard the Americans were there-The men all come in for a beer or 3 or?? and to stare.. Then they eased up a bit-- Fun, and just so nice and cozy.. Miss it much.
