Hi I had a rc two weeks ago , I'm fine and recovering , problem is leaks , My stoma is too near my belly button so the bag leaks always where it hits the belly button, I was given hollister convex one piece bags , 4 hours is my maximum time before leaks, any suggestions welcomw Hey Michael, That must be really frustrating for you. Do you have access to a stoma nurse? They need to see the area in order to suggest what might help. We have various products like stoma paste, barrier rings, the convex appliances (in different depths), etc. to work with. I'm sure there will be some trial and error, but I'm sure a solution is available. Please update us when you can. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Hi Michael, I have the same problem. A convex bag works for me although sometimes it does leak. If I find it at the leak stage I'm OK, but once in a while it's more than a leak and then, oh my . . . I've learned to deal with it. It's only poop and without the surgery I wouldn't be alive so some leakage here and there isn't too much to deal with. Michael, I also use a Hollister convex wafer. I use the two piece one however. I don't know about the one piece, but the wafer part of mine is shaped like a rounded square. I turn it sideways ( ?) so its like a diamond shape around my stoma. One 'point' toward my chin, the other towards my feet. That seems to put the wafer farther from my belly button. I don't know if its possible with the one piece, just my 2 cents. good luck!
