I've been into air popped corn in a big way these past few weeks - I'm easily eating 10 cups a day without any trouble.

I will note that air-popped seems to digest a lot easier than microwaved popcorn. I'm curious if anyone else has had this experience.

My favorite way to make them:

  1. Air pop 1/3 cup of kernels.
  2. Spray the popcorn with pam or something similar (just a little).
  3. Add fine salt.
  4. Mix the popcorn and spray again with Pam.
  5. Add other seasonings (I like stevia sweetener, garlic powder, tajin, black pepper, smoked paprika, chipotle powder) and repeat the process of mixing and spraying Pam to get them to stick.
  6. Enjoy!

This method adds a negligible amount of calories but allows everything to stick better. So tasty!

I'm with you Bubbles, not brave enough for that, at least right now.  I ate to many almonds a couple of weeks ago, wasn't a happy camper for a few days.

There are a few types of kernels that produce different results when popped. One produces "mushrooms" and the other produces "butterflies"

I'm not sure if one is easier to chew and digest compared to the other, but it might be worth experimenting with :)

Ye have a point with this, the one on the right is what I would call cinema popcorn, even when chewed well still has a skin/shell from the kernel which is hard to digest. while the other we get more in packets in shops. Now I know why we watch films in the dark!! its so we can,t see the popcorn that didn,t pop lol

The photo isn't mine, but I believe you can air pop both.
