Finding the right ostomy products is crucial to being a successful ostomate. The best way to find the right product is to sample them, and while I’ve done my best to offer unbiased PRODUCT REVIEWS, there really is no substitution for try products out yourself.
Below, you’ll find a list of ostomy supply manufacturers from around the world. These companies offer everything from ostomy bags and wafers to adhesive removers and barrier rings.
I’ve indicated which companies explicitly offer free samples on their website, but you may need to contact their customer service directly to find out if they offer samples not listed on their website.
Some companies only offer products within their home country, while others ship internationally (usually through distributors or medical supply stores); it’s best to check with them to see where their products are available.

Hi, I called B.Braun this morning to be told that they discontinued all ostomy manufacturing products as of November 2019.
Hi Nananini, which country did you inquire from? They recently did discontinue the sale of ostomy supplies in the US, but they are still manufacturing and supplying in the rest of the world. They are one of the largest producers of ostomy products, so I would be shocked if they discontinued making them.

What size of supplies do you use? I gave Medicaid my dr changed my script lots of left overs. I could sell them to you real cheap or whatever you could afford. I’m not using them and no one wants to use tape and a bread bag. I also know a catholic clinic in Lincoln NE that gives away supplies sometimes I could give you their info. They don’t care if you are catholic or not they just want to help. I don’t know if this will let me give you my email so I’ll spell it out Jessica dot Harris3 at Waldenu dot edu

They send free supplies to those who can’t afford them
I work in occupational therapy and have a burn patient with an colostomy. She is still in rehab and will be leaving the facility to live with her sister. The problem that my patient has is her hands are disfigured from severe burns received in a fire. Her colostomy is on the left pelvis side and is difficult for her to see to empty. She still has nursing emptying her bag, but she needs to learn how to empty the bag by herself. I believe the velcro closure would be one that she could handle. I would like a sample, but I don’t want every company calling me to buy supplies, they can be very persistent. She has mushy output and also a hernia and was not able at this time to reverse the colostomy. Can I have a sample without giving my personal information to the entire medical field?
Hi Jane,
I can certainly understand your concern about being harassed by companies after requesting samples. In my experience, most companies will only follow up once to make sure that the samples were received and to get your general feedback.
One suggestion to avoid this is to have your patient see a stoma nurse, who is more than likely able to provide samples directly and without the need to call or be contacted by multiple companies.
Because of your patient’s needs, seeing a stoma nurse is still highly recommended to tackle some of the challenges and to help troubleshoot any issues that come up.
