Don’t  know why but I’ve been having streaks of diarrhea lately. No changes in food and in fact the food I’m eating should be causing the opposite. Trying to figure this one out,

If you've ruled out food, could it be a stomach bug?

There are other factors, like stress, blockages, etc. that could also cause unexpected liquid output.

@veganostomy yes, thanks for your input. I gave an appointment on Tuesday with the colorectal department so I’m going to mention this. Maybe they can test my stool. I just feel so toxic lately. At my jobs I’m exposed to so many chemicals. I’m even wondering if that might be what it is. Seems I’m fine at home and then it happens when I go back in.

Update: doc appointment today. Came home with a stool sample kit. Referral to gastro and integrated medicine to see what toxins I may be exposed to.

This sounds super interesting, but I hope whatever result you get leads to finding solutions to why you aren't feeling good. 👍

@veganostomy it does sound interesting. I guess they will do more extensive testing but…,they are so booked that my appointment for that, the integrated medicine won’t be till September but I am on a wait list if someone cancels they will contact me. So, I could get in earlier. All my years I have worked in jobs where I’ve been exposed to so many chemicals. The job I just quit, the boss had just taken over these clients and the prior caregivers were not taking garbage out and it sat in the garage so I guess they left the garage open and raccoons were living in there . I heard there were maggots. Flies all inside the home etc.. I had no clue that it was like that because the boss had mostly everything cleaned up but it had this stench in there that no matter how hard you clean it would not go away. I kept saying it smells like dead mice lol!!! Well Lo and behold one night I’m mopping in the basement and I see this little bald baby mouse no bigger than a peanut wriggling  around in the floor. Sadley  I had to dispose of him in the outside garbage. That was the night a girl told me about the raccoons and maggots. I never went back. I’m kind of worried if I caught something there because I’m my 3 months there I got eye infections twice and ear infections that had 3 different bacteria in which one is usually caught in a hospital setting.

the doctor I saw that referred me to all of this feels my vomiting in my sleep might be acid reflux but I’ve never done this before. She could be right though.  The diarrhea she’s testing for what she has the ability to test for.,

Hmmm, I’ve been observing that it may be my Prilosec causing the diarrhea. My Prilosec was one of the things I removed when doing process of elimination for my sticky issue. I recently brought it back into my regimen. I’m noting that in days I do take it that the diarrhea comes and days I do not take it I do not have diarrhea. Unless it’s coincidence. Still going to drop off the stool sample for sure though  since I’m always exposed to nasty environments on the job.

I never was able to get my sample turned in yet. I need to do it when I have no m9 deodorant in the pouch at all and I recently again switched jobs get out the nastiness. I’ve been so busy at the new place and trying to get time to get this sample and with no pouch deodorant in it. Run it to the lab.
the diarrhea has slowed quite a bit but still want to get that sample turned in.
im loving the new job though. Very clean immaculate home and get this? A client with ileistomy. Yes so now I have 2 pouches to empty.

@cat-momma thank you! I feel I have won the lottery. Not as in money but as in cleanliness on the job! It feels so good to not have to stink like rats ass after work. This house is so clean and NORMAL! This is what I’m used to. I don’t  know how I got stuck in those last 3 jobs with disgusting environments. I swear I never seen anything like it before. God has blessed me with this  so I’m hoping my health will improve from now on.
the diarrhea has completely stopped now but I still want to submit the sample. I’ve been reading on my skin issues because I recently started having some different symptoms on my feet I started to wonder if I could have fungal or bacterial  infections on my skin. Someone in another forum mentioned this. I tried switching my shower body soap to dial antibacterial yellow and I must say that I am seeing a difference the last few days. Dermatologist next Tuesday. I’m going to insist on some koh smears samples. I really want to see because the environments I was exposed were so filthy.

@dlkfiretruck yes bizarre is to say the least. Holding out was hard but bills needed paid and third shift was hard to go looking for something else at times. It was a real challenge. So disgusting that one girl on her first night left the client alone and never came back. Told the boss it stunk too bad. Another girl sitting on a heavy piece of plastic that she brought in on the chair. I used garbage bags. I have had to throw shoes and clothing away in the garbage as they were uncleanable. The smell would not come out. My old car do bad I had to trade it in. The only thing was faith in god that he was going to get me out of that terrible situation and with each new job I had high hopes that this was it. But yes it took 3 jobs to find the one I have now. I believe in God so I believed there was some kind of reason he kept sending me to those places but that he was eventually going to get me out of it and bless me. 1 year later here I am.  My sticky problem still persists but not to the extent that it was. Thanks for following my horrible story here and being there for me as well as anyone else who was. Looking forward to hopefully feeling better.

Congrats on your new job, @chelly!

Just looking up Prilosec, side effects do include diarrhea, so it's not out of the question. Are you able to ring up your pharmacist to discuss it?

@veganostomy thank you! You all have no clue as to how happy I am to have gotten out of those houses. It almost seems it’s a dream it was so long. Slowly I’m getting the smells washed out of my clothing as I keep washing. I found Persil odor detergent and borax has been the key to getting out those embedded smells. Previously I threw out 2 wardrobes of clothing. I had to get help to get new cloths due to all of this. My brand new car had to get detailed. But it’s over!  Finally over!!  Yes they said Prilosec can cause it. Funny when I took it regularly I never experienced it but after being off for a few months it’s different. I’m on this idea wondering if I maybe have C-Diff or some other bacteria. I mean with the sticky stool (sticky like glue sticky not just thick) then diarrhea. I know ileo poop smells horrible compared to colonic poop but when I don’t  use pouch deodorant it almost has a sickly cheesy smell.
I really need to get this sample turned in. It’s so hard because I work 3rd shift and the lab is closed when I go in and then on my way home in the morning I have pouch deodorant in. I need to get a sample without the deodorant in it I would think.

I found Persil odor detergent and borax has been the key to getting out those embedded smells.

I've been using a product called "Rockin' Green Active Wear Detergent" for my cycling clothes, as I find that regular detergent doesn't work well with smells on technical fabric.

The key with that stuff is that it contains enzymes, so if you're looking for another option, consider an enzyme-based cleaner and soak the clothing for the first time.

But still, I'm so happy for you!

@veganostomy you know i was looking at those work out cloths odor removing detergents just a few weeks ago because I wear work out leggings as pants although i buy mine in cotton but still, yes I’ve learned they are harder to clean. Now that I know that you have tried it and confirming it works I’m going to look for this brand.
thank so much! I’m still wanting to pinch myself to be sure this is real and not a dream lol! One year of pure agony at those places!! Thank you!

I finally got my poop turned into the lab. No C diff I guess that was the only thing they checked for. I have my holistic functional medicine appts in early September i believe.
I got diarrhea again today but I think it’s due to eating salad last night. No more salad for me.
