When I went into my first surgery I was going in for a total colostomy but only ended up getting a subtotal, now I have to go back in to get the rest removed. the thing I don't get is every time I go to see the surgeon he keeps trying to get me to get a jpouch even though I decided to get a total in the first place, telling me that I was rushed into it and he wanted to give me time with the ostomy and then decide after having it for a while but the thing is I haven't changed my mind at all and I'm not going to change, when and see him a few weeks ago and When and see him a few weeks ago and I told him I want the surgery :) now everything is signed and ready to go in December (i know its a while away but i homeschool my son and im on my own so this will give me 6 weeks to focus on recovering without worrying about him) One step closer to the Permanent Ostomy Club! What made you decide to not go with a j-pouch? Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Mixture of things I guess, from stories I've heard to how I recover to I don't what to feel like I did before, just don't want to go through that ever again. I feel the best I ever have since getting ostomy 🙂 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.
