I've been a fan of Sriracha for several years, but have recently been expanding my options. Perhaps a little TMI, but without the worry of "butt burn", I've been able to really enjoy hot sauce! I've purchased and tested the following: I like them all, except the one from Grace, which tastes "off" (my daughter says it tastes like olives). The Siracha, Frank's and Cholula are the most flavorful. Do you like hot sauce? What are your favorites? Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ Personally I like Franks Red Hot (also marketed as Durkee). It is what I use when making hotwings. I also add a little to my chili, and to my Ranch dressing to give it a little zing. My husband likes Tabasco but I can't stand it. Not sure what it is but both the smell and flavor make me ill. My husband likes Tabasco but I can't stand it. Not sure what it is but both the smell and flavor make me ill. I don't know why Tobasco is so popular - I don't find it to be a memorable sauce. Frank's has a very nice flavor (I'm even putting it on salads, as someone suggested on Instagram). But there's also a cost factor... sriracha is cheap and lasts a long time. The Cholula sauce I bought a few days ago (for like $6) is about 3/4 done! LOL Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ I think those sauces must be a Canadian / USA thing. I use fresh chillis or chilli flakes i may put tobacco in a Bloody Mary 🌶 i may put tobacco in a Bloody Mary 🌶 Tobacco or tabasco? 😂😂😂 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ i may put tobacco in a Bloody Mary 🌶 Tobacco or tobasco? 😂😂😂 Ha ha don't you love spell check i don't know if you tried this one but it does the trick for me https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/nandos-medium-peri-peri-hot-sauce/6000188770234 the medium is as far as I can take but if you really like it hot try the hot version . i don't know if you tried this one but it does the trick for me https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/nandos-medium-peri-peri-hot-sauce/6000188770234 the medium is as far as I can take but if you really like it hot try the hot version . I saw that yesterday, but went with the Great Value one. I will try the Nandos soon! I don't like them too hot to enjoy my food, and so far only the sriracha is "hot" (but nowhere near how hot these sauces can get!). Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ The medium nandos is not too hot , but I am still cautious , I use the cap of the bottle to measure into whatever I am cooking , I start with one capful and work my way up , I love spicy food but I like to actually be able to taste the food not just the sauce , I make a nice pasta sauce and I add two capfuls of the nandos to it and its really nice , crush two cloves of garlic into some good quality olive oil , let the garlic cook slowly , just make sure it does not burn , remove the garlic cloves from the oil add one finely cut onion and when the onion is cooked add finely cut red and yellow peppers , let the peppers cook for a few minutes , then add two cans of chopped tomatoes and leave to simmer for 20 minutes , add two capfulls of nandos peri peri at 15 minutes , add pasta of your choice and enjoy , I might have got carried away there Eric , but I think a receipt thread might be a good idea . PS if you are in an area with fresh tomatoes you can chop your own and remove the seeds and skins if they are a problem Sounds delicious, Tony! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ Mae Ploy Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce is my favorite, Sriracha and Huy Fongs Sambal Oolek are our workhorse sauces. Sambal is Garlic and Pepper paste, we use it to make savory oatmeal. Crohn's Colitis, Ilieostomy, Proctocolectomy November 2017 Nice recommendations, Felicity! I'm sure I've come across those two, so I'll have to pick some up the next time I see them! Sriracha goes on everything over here 😂 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ I normally like to use Salsa Brava the hot one . But sometimes I like to grow then dry and crush up Habeneros for a good kick . But I don't have to worry about butt burn anymore . LOL . Also Hatch Chili season here those are good for cooking . Subtotal colectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis But sometimes I like to grow then dry and crush up Habeneros for a good kick . I plan to grow peppers next summer! I have to make sure I'm growing them in an area that our dogs don't have access to... I'm sure they would not appreciate biting into a Scotch Bonnet 😂 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ Haha . No they probably wouldn't appreciate it to much but probably wouldn't do it again . LOL . I'm lucky my dog never tried them . Subtotal colectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis It's like my dogs have read all of Murphy's Laws... if they can get to something, they'll get into it! LOL Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ ...Huy Fongs Sambal Oolek... Hey Felicity, I went out and bought the Sambal Olek paste - wow, is it ever great tasting!! I've been putting it on everything =) It tastes a lot nicer than the regular chili paste you find in stores. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. ~ Crohn's Disease ¦ Ileostomy ~ Just had savory oatmeal with it yesterday morning. So tasty. Got to try Congee (Chinese Rice Porridge) this morning, could have used a spot of the Sambal. Crohn's Colitis, Ilieostomy, Proctocolectomy November 2017
