It was a year ago today that my rectum was removed and my anus left to close up into a “Ken Doll Butt”, so I’ll be celebrating my ASSiversary today =)

Happy Stomaversary! My First Year With an Ostomy
August 21, 2014: It’s hard to believe that a year ago today I was at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto having my colon removed and getting it replaced with an ileostomy.

I was in for my rectum removal surgery on Nov 7th, 2013 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. After having stayed in a nearby hotel the night before, things were quite easy going in.
