When trying to copy and paste a link onto the Veganostomy forums using Brave Browser Mobile for iOS fails to paste, I've come across a similar (but not exact) bug report on the official Brave Browser Github: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/55383

But, since this member also noted the same problem on Safari browser, this could be related to iOS.

I'm not having this problem using Brave Browser (or any other browser) on Android, but if there are any other users who have an iPhone (and maybe even an iPad) that is able to test with either Safari or Brave, we can maybe narrow things down.

I am at my wits end with these bags not holding up and these rings melting. I know sometimes they say less is more. So I am trying without a ring today. I know i've done it in the past and it didn't work out but i'm trying again.

For those of you that stopped using them, are you still able to rinse?  And to rinse up around the stoma, without degrading your seal? I mean, I have to because of pancakes, and it's a catch. 22, the water can make it degrade, but then so can the output. So I always feel safer just rinsing.

Also, if you can tell me everything that's better. Since you stopped using the ring and also, do you have a little space in between the stoma and the hole of the bag, or did you have it cut exactly to fit. 

I'm still in the process of trying out those new rings from eakin but i only had one box last month so I haven't fully got to test them out full time.

I just kinda feel like if you keep packing things up onto the barrier. It's just stacking it up higher. Like its just going to make the stoma go lower inside the bag. This is the problem I keep having.Is it keeps sinking down into things as the rings melt.

I'm still also having a problem with soaps that use in the shower. They have changed all the soaps to moisturizing and you cant find one thats not anymore.  I shower with the bag on now but when i go to change it some of the residue still gets dragged over to the area. Anything that I was able to use in the past, I can't use anymore because of these changes. I've started to try body washes, but they're even worse. Ialso tried  castile soap that Eric suggested. But it leaves a bad residue. It could just be my certain skin.I have no idea. 

I asked my nurse about it, and she said, people have actually been calling in complaining about the same thing that they can't find anything to use because it's degrading their seals. She also told me that others it's not bothering that they are still able to use the stuff and get by. 

They tell us to use water only now, but how can you do that? When you're using adhesive remover that has to be cleaned up before you put your pouch on otherwise, the adhesive remover is gonna melt the pouch. Not only that, the area does need to be cleaned once in a while.I mean come on.

If you use a silicone based remover, yes it does a great job of getting big chunks of adhesive off your skin but it also has a quick drying time , so therefore your just putting a coating of slippery siicone on top of any adhesive residue thats on your peristomal skin. Therefore i still favor the alcohol based ones.

Do you know of any ways to make the stoma quieter or at least help control the sounds it can make? I know opioids can slow things down, but I don't think they are a healthy long-term solution. Years ago, I read on the Crohn's forum that someone with a stoma controlled the noise by placing their hand over it in a specific way, but I'm not sure if that actually works. Have you read, tried, or stumbled upon anything effective? The reason I ask is that I used to enjoy going to libraries, but I haven't visited any since my surgery, due primarily to this issue. I'd like to go back.

Could irrigation work? Eric, have you written anything about irrigation? Also, could wearing a corset help with this?

I just learned that convatec now has a new eakin seal called  Eakin freeseal versa. I'm allergic to the original eakin seal but the rep told me about these new ones they make, and they don't leave a gunky mess on you.

They lift off one piece instead of leaving all that gunk on your skin like most rings, do. They are not silicone either. There's supposed to be amazing for liquid output as well and They are sending me a sample, so i'm very excited about this because i'm sick of the sticky mess. Maybe I won't be allergic to this one either. 

So I just thought I'd post this to let everyone know that there's a new barrier ring out there. 

It's sickening to see AI being shoved into any and every product, service, and software we use.

The software that runs this website is no exception.

For weeks, I've been holding out on updating the forum software, because the latest major version is basically AI-everything.

Now, the software that runs the website has begun to add AI-features into the mix, too.

As these updates often come with important security patches, I will be forced to update them at some point in the near future.

My intention is to disable any and all AI-related features that are used to either collect data, or generate content.

One such feature included in the new forum software allows AI to create new topics. To me, this undermines the entire point of an online community, and would be insulting for those looking to learn from another person's shared experience. It's my understanding that this feature can (and will!) be disabled.

I honestly don't know where things are headed in the next year or two. If these AI features can no longer be disabled, I'll need to make some tough decisions.

This site, and all of my content, has always been offered for free and without outside influence or manipulation. It's one of the reasons why I've never put up ads, taken on sponsored content, or sold my newsletter members list to marketing companies.

If AI undermines the effort I've taken over the last 13 years of running VO, it would be heartbreaking to say the least.

I'm thinking out loud, and sharing my thoughts, because what's happening affects far more than VeganOstomy and the VO community.

It's a good decision, but I'll be honest, it's ALARMING that people in their 40's are at risk of colon cancer to begin with!

While detection is critical, really, we need to find out what's trigging cancer at such early ages, so preventative measures can be put in place.

Now that i'm retired, i'm spending way too much money on toilet paper. I can go through a 12 pack and and a half in 1 week. And sometimes more. It seems like I never stopped going.

there was always something in the pouch. Even though I rinse and get everything cleaned out as soon as I do it starts going again. I guess they have told me its high output ostomy. It's ridiculous.I feel like i'm spending all my money on toilet paper. I do rinse, but I have this thick output, and so I have to keep rinsing and use more toilet paper. Anyone else feel this way?

I've already gone through five rolls in two days. It's getting very bothersome expensive. 

I use a convex system because my stoma does not protrude without it.  The appliance sits on an eakin ring stretched to the elliptical shape of my stoma.  This has worked well until recently.  Basically, I’ve got a tube of paste, and I’m not sure how to use it.
