About Me

Two years ago,at the age of 48 I was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. When I had my surgery the hope was that the mass in my rectum had shrunk enough to only have a temporary bag. God had other plans. I woke up to a permanent colostomy bag.I am a stay home Mom to 4 children, but I am a Mother to 8. Plus,a Grandma to one. She was born 4 days before my surgery.Life is a roller coaster full of ups and downs dealing with having a permanent bag,but was told at least I am alive. I lost my baby sister to Colon Cancer 11 years ago,at the age of 26 so she is my reason for fighting so hard to live. Also, through Genetic Testing my siblings and I found out that Colon Cancer or any other type of Cancer along those lines run in our family. We carry a gene that has no placement that causes polyps that if not removed can turn Cancerous like in my case.
