Marcie...I spent Monday in the kitchen making Perogies for my sons birthday coming up. Six hours on my feet Mixing, kneading and rolling and stuffing noodles. Bending tons and lots of reaching I wore a tight elastic shirt with spaghetti straps under a light weight top, I found that the tight shirt (camisole type?) actually gave me a lot of support for my back also. I have Anklylosing Spondolitis, this has nothing to do with ankles, but the pain in my back was way less and I found it so much more comfortable to work in the kitchen and my bag never got in the way or bumped when I was getting ingredients or moving around so much I am planning to buy a couple of the tight shirts so that I can cut the bosom part off, sew it and wear it as a maternity belt sort of thing. I have to admit, I was amazed it felt so good to wear it, but I was concerned I may end up with a leak of some kind, however the I did not. It I did one thing different I think I would have worn a stoma guard if I had one just to protect rubbing against the counter. I can certainly see why the guys prefer to wear these things with sports and all. Have you ever tried something like this? And if so, what have you tried?

SMV...I was just thinking...If I had to be at work and wear nylons, I would consider a stoma guard. Have you seen Erics video on them? If not, have a look it only takes a few moments and they are very informative. They would cover over your stoma and give them a more flat sort of surface all the while protecting it from the pressure. How long have you had your stoma?

Thank you for the suggestions! I just ordered a pair of maternity nylons and a pair of thigh highs. I’ll also try the hanger trick.

Hey there SMV...I was worried about this also for when my daughter got married. I tried them ahead of time. I found panty hose felt like I was choking in them and I also trashed the front of the hose because there was no room for my pouch to expand. The material there is very different than in the legs. It has more of a knit to it they did not run from my butchering of them. But, I found the elastic at the top drove me nuts. Since one of my surgeries left me with peritonitis, my wound had been left open to heal from the inside out and I was also hooked up to a Vacu-Pak to suck out infection. Healing took many months of being in the hospital. My stomach since then has been very sensitive to pressure of any kind so wearing panty hose was out of the question after I tried them once. My go to when I need to wear something that is not a knee high are the thigh high ones. I actually love them and did not feel like they were too tight at all. If anything, I was more concerned that they would slip down. They have a special elastic on the inside, around the tops that help them stay in place, they are not based on tightness or cinching off blood supply. They were very comfortable, I spent the money on a little more expensive brand and I just love them. Just before the wedding, my sister came to me to see if I had a spare pair of panty hose because she has a nasty run n hers. I gave her my spare package and said a silent prayer that my nylons would hold up for the wedding. That wedding was three years ago and I still wash and wear the same nylons. I just love them. I can't say I have ever said that before about nylons!

They r very expensive--I have looked. But I have long legs, and slender legs, and narrow hips, so all I am dong is streching out the top area of the panty hose with a proper puffed up material hanger.. Is all I can do for me. So try that, u know the nice hangers? I am talking about?? They come in gift packages...

Besides, the guys and some - wear those wraps...… that is tight and against the stoma.. Right????? Pantyhose will strech netter than those wraps I would think.
