Hello everyone, I'm looking for five volunteers to try out my prototype StomaStencil for free. Here's the preview site (www.stomastencil.com.) So, what is it? I can take someone's photo of their stoma or whatever they use for creating a custom stoma pattern and create an acrylic stencil used to cut the wafer of a two piece device...and also provide an acrylic piece with the exact circumference of the stoma (plus 1 mm) regardless of the shape, for tracing. It's a 3 piece arylic set along with a 4mm screw to keep the 'sandwich' tight for cutting. There are three short videos on the first page of the site to demonstrate. Frankly, I don't know if there's even a need for this. In any case, if you're a Hollister two piece user, I'd like to offer you the chance to try it out. (I'm limiting the tryout to Hollister users right now , simply because I know the product. Also, you should be several months post surgery. The only other requirement is that you give me candid feedback to allow me to decide to go forward or not. Please email me at info@stomastencil.com if you'd like to participate. I'll get back to everyone either way. I'll also post here with developments...keeping participants' details confidential. My resources are limited, and I'm exploring whether or not to ramp this up. I invite you to check out the site and register on the site to make a 'waiting list.' I will tell you that stomastencil has helped me in a couple of significant ways, but I'd like to know if it can help others by doing this test. Thanks to Eric's gracious allowance to allow me to float this idea here. This is in no way an endorsement by him. Tony Raymond (OldGuy) Hi old guy , Any thing that helps ostomy life is always Welcome 🙏 Every success going forward 👍👍 ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns It could be a useful tool for many I'm sure. Go for it!. I use Hollister, but am blessed with a perfectly round stoma so I'm able to use a standard commercial die punch. With a small hammer, I can cut out a months worth of wafers in just a few minutes. Retired engineer, now goatherd @goatherder My surgeon's work is likely a reflection of his penmanship... :-) I'm on the road until the beginning of August, but I have all my software tools to continue to improve on my measuring techniques. I'm down to 1/32th of an inch from a photo image to laser cut. If you're willing to give StomaStencil a try, please register on the site (stomastencil.com) and upload a photo of your stoma or the template you currently use. Anonymity is guarantied. By mid-August I'll send the first 5 signups a free stencil (I'll let you know right away if you're in the first 5 and destroy your images and info right away if you're not.) BTW, I've been able to eliminate my ring with the better cuts...I've also done 10 cuttings at sitting, saving a bunch of time every device change. I will go public with everything by the end of the year. I've shown it to a few medical professionals who have patients with stomas, and they want to know when I'll be going 'live.' Please help me make this a viable and reliable product. Thanks again to Eric for allowing me to post to the community. tr looks interesting but to be honest its a bit overcomplicated , getting a stencil would be adequate in my opinion and a great help , cutting out is fairly easy with a stoma scissors , imho no need for the rest of the kit , having a good cutout template would be really handy esp for all the different shapes , if you would be willing to sell just the template/stencil I would be more than happy to purchase . I'm currently on the road, but the site is up (stomastencil.com). I'm looking for volunteers for product viability. Right now there is no charge. I'll gladly create your custom stencil. You need only register and upload the image of your stoma including the manufacturer's template. I'll have a deliverable to you sometime in September. I only ask for feedback once you receive it and try it. I'm a new member and I just saw this post. What is the status of the product?
