I am using this product since my surgery July 2017. I like this product, and it lasts me at times for 6 - 8 days with no problems (Colostomy is much easier on these products). I have seen advertisements for this product, and others of the same kind, telling you, there is no need to cut, and no need for scissors - WRONG, you need scissors, and you got to cut out some, or it would build a wall around your Stoma, and output will be hanging on the Stoma instead of dropping to the bottom of the pouch. It works by body heat, and expends after you set it to your Stoma size, when it does not have any place to expend reaching the Stoma, it will keep expending in the wrong direction and build this wall which would block output from dropping to bottom of pouch. If you are using it, and had a better experience - Please let me know. Thanks Dan Hey Dan, Are you referring to the Formaflex product? If so, you shouldn't need to cut it because it's a moldable product, but maybe this depends on the size of your stoma - smaller stomas won't have a lot of the wafer bunching up around it. It may also have to do with the consistency of your output. I wish I had longer wear time with this product - it really is a great wafer, if it lasted longer! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Hi Eric, My Stoma is a large one, and my Ostomy nurse told me it would be wise for me to cut it, even it is supposed to be molded only. When I cut it, it lasts me as I said before 6 to 8 days, and I have no skin trouble what so ever. If I watch what I eat, my output is like pebbles of different sizes. It is a Colostomy, which is the easiest of them all, being that I have most of my intestine, which absorbs most of the fluids out of it. I have used Hollister since my surgery, and I am happy with it.
