I received a product in one of my ostomy kits and I don't know if it is something I can use or not.  I have a colonostomy.  The description on the product is eakin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Cohesive  Ref 839003.   It is round and has a small round opening in the center.  It looks to small for my use.  ??????????????????

That is a seal/barrier ring, used as an extra seal against leaks. can also be useful to fill out any dips or hollows around the stoma. you may not need one and like all product always their when the occasion arises. It can be shaped by gently pulling out to fit the diameter of the stoma. Lot of different brands of these available.

I  just put my thumb in the seal hole and go from there.. I shape it like a thick rope- using only 1/2 of the seal ring too-  I like the half one better that I just cut in half. make a rope and shape ON the wafer/barrier.   Nice pillow affect.

Here's more info for that type of product :

You definitely stretch those out to fit and mold them to your liking .

Just note that they are not necessary for every ostomate.

Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.
