So far I have not used any deodorant that goes in the bag. At home, I use a faucet attached hand sprayer to rinse things off after empty and all is good. At work where there is no hand sprayer, but there is a can of Febreeze. So after empty I give it a shot to the outside of the outlet area and it is good.

So far the Febreeze does not seem to do any damage to the appliance. But some other spray air fresheners might have chemicals that could damage the plastics. So be careful. Maybe a different Febreeze fragrance recipe could be bad too.

@glenn-giroir ...Thats a good question. I've been using it for many years now & do not notice anything different except the cost ! Lol! I'm pretty sure our health departments, like ...Health Canada would not allow sales of it if there were issues with long term use as its being sold through the Pharmacy systems here & it would require approval through Health Canada. I've been using it about 9 years now, 12 plus an ostomate.

I do wonder how long its been produced though thinking of earlier ostomates who once used Moss packed on there tummies to absorb output until they could safely go clean up. Can you imagine that??? We are so lucky & blessed in so many ways because of Science over & over again.

SAME! I used to use GELPLUS and then they stopped making it. M9 is not as good but is better than any other. I do add some lubricant to the bottle too. M9 and rinsing pouch every time I empty has worked for me for years now.
