Do you have a medical supply store that sells them in your area? They'll be able to measure you up for the right one. 

I have been wearing Nu Hope belts for over a year for the same reason. Don't want or need a hernia.  The Nu Hope web site has measuring guide.  I have a 35-36 inch waist and need a Large.  The ring size is something that you pick that you can get your appliance through. I wear Hollister 1 3/4" two piece flange and buy the 2 3/8" belt. The 4 inch wide belt works for me.  Wider ones want to roll up.

I first bought mine from eBay for $18 - $20 each when I could find them that low.  I bought a 4" and two 6" belts that way.  Later I found that I can order from my ostomy supply company and insurance picks up the entire bill.  They allow one per month.  They went to my doctor for a prescription.  You can find the belts online for $50 -$70 each.

I have several and throw them in the washing machine and air dry. I wear one 24 hours a day and no problems with them.  A little added security to keep the appliance on and no leaks.

Do you need to get a prescription every single month or does one prescription cover you "forever'? 

I'm going to be asking my doctor for a prescription and my insurance company said they'll cover one belt every two months - but I don't want to have to get a prescription every two months! That's unreasonable.

 My products supplier gives me a 90 day supply and supplied 3 belts and the next time skipped.  So I think that the insurance will only supply one every two months like yours.  I believe that the prescriptions last for one year and then the supplier goes to the doctor for another prescription.  I'm not totally sure how it works, it just works like magic.

My insurance is mainly US Medicare backed up with Blue Cross and I never pay a cent for any doctor, hospital, ostomy supply. 

I came out of the Hospital with small Hernia. I'm shopping for one with pouch support also. Looking for reviews and ideas. 

I've received a hernia belt sample from Safe N' Simple. Haven't tried it yet, but I'll be doing a review once I've had a chance to use it for a while :)  More to follow (hopefully).
